Finally got out the promised report on Napoleon Sarony, as was detailed in the preceding post on this blog. That took a lot longer than I expected — all the facts were recorded from previous research, but writing it all out in a semi-logical format was still time consuming. I don’t remember taking that long to produce a similar sized report in college — maybe I’m slowing down.
I also switched over from the old image database to a new, easier to use one. All images can be viewed either by title or as thumbnail images. Right now there is minor glitch in the display, in that switching from one mode to the other (title to thumbnails, or vice versa) takes you back to the first page — so on extra click is required to get back where you wanted to be. Inconsequential now, that could be a major hassle when the database grows, so I’ll fix that before we get to 1,000 images.
The statistic summary below shows I added 36 images — but that is over the old total. Before I could get to those I had to re-enter 122 more from the old database, so really I added 158 for the month. Also 344 more photographer entries in that database. And I completed three more volumes of tax records for the Pennsylvania Photographers 1862-66 project. Considering I also added over 4,000 names to my Erie County NY Genealogy site, I did a fair amount of work for the month.
Here are the statistics for ClassyArts as of Sep 30:
2010 Sep 30
64,883 Photographer records [344 increase]
338 photographs [36 increase]
